STOP! Media release Wednesday 19 November 2008 MEGAsheds at Solstice Park on the A303 at Amesbury rejected The Planning & Regulatory Panel of Salisbury District Council last night (Tues 18 November) rejected proposals for MEGAsheds at Solstice Park. The grounds for rejection were based on the scale of the development and the negative impact of the construction and operation of the two proposed MEGAsheds on the area. The Solstice Park plan included two MEGAsheds of 54,400 m2 and 35,600 m2, a total of 90,000 m2. The current Goodman plan for the Andover Airfield includes one MEGAshed of 80,000 m2. STOP! Chair Rhonda Smith commented: “MEGAsheds have now been rejected in Salisbury, Newbury, Farnborough as well as Andover. These sheds and their operations can only be accommodated on a motorway and away from residential areas. On 1 December Test Valley’s Planning Control must reject once again the Goodman plan and the MEGAshed on the sound planning grounds identified at the Northern Area Planning meeting.” Ends/ More information 01264-710428 / 07887-714957
