Fantastic news,
last night all seventeen councillors on the planning committee voted
to reject the mega depot plans. A packed Princes Hall with TV News
coverage watched as SPLAT presented our substantiated concerns.
Councillor, Stephen Parker, was impressive with the work he had
undertaken as part of preparing a detailed analysis of the mega
depot plans. There was significant debate as issues were raised
against each of the topics covered. A further six reasons for
refusal were agreed, including public concern based on material
planning issues.
Thank you for all who attended and offered their support. We look
forward to working with Hart Council in the forthcoming appeal –
details to follow.
The STOP team
attended the meeting, which was a great example of democracy in
action as the proposers and objectors were both given four minutes
to talk on the six key planning topics which were then debated by
councillors.
