TVBC Councillors Forum

This was an Opportunity to Submit Your Question for the Councillors Forum at the Guildhall Andover

The StopMegaSheds Campaign Team will posed two questions below on your behalf,

to enable TVBC clarify their position on the building of the Tesco Megashed.

The two questions submitted below, provided a very interesting response from the TVBC head of Planning

What are the increased benefits in the Goodman Airfield Application for Andover Residents when compared to the benefits that would come from a more formal Business Park Development as has always been envisaged and preferred by most residents and as featured in the Andover Vision and Local Plan ?

Based on the news on the front page in the AA last Friday from Tesco relating to the number of jobs (circa 2,000) we ask the councillors if they could comment on the quality of the jobs and numbers referred to in the article, which has varied form 1,000 to 2,000 and the impact that new arrivals in Andover would have on the housing stock given there are only 300 unemployed in the town meaning Tesco will need to bring up to 1,700 people from outside who will either commute and cause more congestion or live locally

The answers were contained in an interesting statement from Maddy Winter, Head of TVBC planning, which was captured by Andover Advertiser and is now the result of many comments from the public.

Please your own comments to the AA website. See link below:
