Alliance Chairman and Sir George Young (MP) handed over the 5,323 signatures
to Roger Testall, CEO of TVBC at 2.30-pm on Wednesday 13th August 2008.
Supporters were joined by Andover Sound and the
Andover Advertiser in recording the handing over of the biggest petition
(largest number of signatures) ever collected by any organisation objecting
to any planning application in the history of TVBC.
We trust that the number of signatures on the
petition, which is in addition to the letters of objection, which is
also a record at 2.500+ will persuade TVBC that they have the support of the
people of Andover and surrounding Parishes to say NO to the Tesco/Goodman
monstrosity called a Megashed.
